1 - Madagascar, Africa

The island of Madagascar is suitable for couples who love exploration, nature but also incredible beaches of the finest sand. A holiday here will satisfy practically everyone: relaxation, excursions, water sports and diving in the coral reef are just some of the activities you can enjoy.

It comprises several islands, including uninhabited islets and tourist islands. The main archipelago is located in the north-west and consists of five islands, two of which are uninhabited. It includes the best known and most visited island in Madagascar: Nosy Be. The other main islands are Île Sainte-Marie and Nosy Iranja.
Absolutely not to be missed is Route Nationale 8, the Baobab Avenue, symbol of the island: it is a characteristic road that goes from the city of Morondava to Belon'i Tsiribihina, strictly unpaved and formed by a succession of baobabs.
The island is rich in nature reserves and parks. Among them is the Isalo National Park, a large natural park surrounded by rock formations with wildlife, canyons and natural pools. On the island of Nosy be, the Lokobe Nature Reserve is a dense, humid forest of typical trees where you can admire lemurs, chameleons, geckos, snakes and more in their natural habitat.

2 - Tenerife, Canary Islands

You may have heard of many people going to the Canary Islands during low season - and there's a reason why! In the Canaries the weather is almost always beautiful and you can go swimming practically all year round. Tenerife is the most urbanised of all the Canary Islands. The island is not only about beaches, but is also characterised by the Teide National Park, the third largest volcano in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which can be reached by cable car or a guided trek up Mount Teide.
Among the most beautiful beaches are La Tejita and Las Teresitas. In addition, whale and dolphin watching tours can be organised here - an absolutely unique experience!
For diving enthusiasts, don't miss Los Gigantes, a group of sheer cliffs between 300 and 600 metres high.

3 - Mauritius, Indian Ocean

"The 'Island of the Swan' is particularly popular in October. It was discovered by the Portuguese and later renamed by the Dutch after their prince: Mauritius of Nassau.
It is located in the south-western Indian Ocean, together with the territory of Réunion they make up the so-called Mascarene Islands. Mauritius is located not far from the east coast of Madagascar, about 1,100 km, which can be travelled in less than two hours by plane.

Today, Mauritius is a place of incredible exotic charm. It offers a multitude of tourist possibilities, not only heavenly beaches...
Here you can indulge in a dream holiday: admire the coral reefs, visit the capital Port Louis, observe impressive animal species at Casela Park and Georges National Park, or visit the important Hindu cult site Grand Bassin and the fantastic Chamarel waterfalls.

4 - Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Located at the southern tip of the California Peninsula, Cabo San Lucas is one of the least rainy seaside resorts in all of Mexico. During this period the climate is arid and the sea temperature high (around 28°C).
Although October is in fact one of the most ill-advised months to visit Mexico, we generally refer to the Caribbean area, in the south and on the east coast, between the Gulf of Mexico, Florida and the Caribbean Sea. Cabo San Lucas, on the other hand, is located in Lower Southern California, on the opposite coast, thus sheltered from the typical tropical cyclones of the Caribbean.
At the end of October, the very interesting'Groove Cruise' event is held for music and sea lovers.
Not to be missed is a superfast boat ride with whale watching, in the company of a marine biologist, who will play the songs of these cetaceans with a hydrophone.

5 - Fortaleza, Brazil

The beaches of Fortaleza, in Brazil's northeast, are incredible stretches of sandy shores, coloured rocks and palm trees. A trip to Fortaleza must include a few key stops: a day trip to Jericoacoara, an incredible fishing village with unique beaches, and a 1-day tour to Cumbuco beach, a paradise for surfers and kiteboarders.

6 - Fiji Islands, Oceania

We go all the way to Oceania, specifically to the blue waters of the Pacific Ocean. The Fiji Islands are 333 islands and rightly represent a true natural paradise. Nature is almost untouched and takes over, the beaches seem to be protected by a kind of spell and the coral reefs are extremely rich. The climate is pleasant all year round, but it is best to avoid the December-April period due to cyclones.

Of the 333 islands that make up the archipelago, only 116 are inhabited. The two main islands are Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. The former is home to the capital Suva and the airport in Nadi. The second is a favourite for diving and trekking, and the most important centres are Labasa and Savusavu. However, the most beautiful beaches are to be found on the smaller islands, which we can divide into two groups: the Mamanuca Islands and the Yasawa Islands.
The only downside, if you like, is that it takes a total of 32 to 36 hours of flying time to reach them from Italy, with at least one stopover in Dubai, Los Angeles, Sydney, Singapore or Hong Kong.

7 - Shanghai, China

China is freezing in the early months of the year, but if you want to visit, the best months are September and October, when temperatures are pleasant (we're around 23 degrees on average) and rainfall is low (especially October).
Admiring Shanghai during this period is ideal; if you are a fan of modern buildings, here you can admire the Pudong district with its succession of skyscrapers, while to appreciate ancient China, don't miss the Yu Garden district. 8 - Maldives, Indian Ocean

The Maldives Islands are a perfect destination for an October holiday. Paradisiacal beaches whose waters have anincredible wealth and variety of fish species, making the stay particularly welcome for snorkelling enthusiasts.
Watch out for the climate, which is pretty much rainy from April to December. Thunderstorms may be frequent, but they are short-lived.

TheMaldives consist of 26 atolls, which include inhabited and uninhabited islands. Each island is a true paradise on earth, with white sand and a fabulous sea. Among the most beautiful atolls are certainly Baa, declared a World Biosphere Reserve and populated by manta rays and whale sharks, the Ari Atoll with the Fesdu Wreck, a sunken fishing boat covered in corals, and the North Malé Atoll, famous for surfing and reef excursions.

9 - Sharm el Sheikh, Red Sea

Let's return to Egypt, once again in the Red Sea, to suggest another destination that is at its best in October.

If you dream of diving in warm waters surrounded by tropical fish, rays and corals, Sharm el Sheikh is the right destination for you.
It is an evergreen destination that will tempt anyone sooner or later, all the more so in October when the decidedly warmer temperatures make it a very desirable destination, (although less crowded than in the summer months)! The ideal time to go diving in the Red Sea is the period between October and November.

Compared to Marsa Alam it offers more amenities, shopping facilities and a more fervent nightlife, so it is a destination suitable for young people but still enjoyable for anyone.
Here, too, there is no shortage of activities and excursions, including desert safaris and visits to ancient Bedouin villages.

10 - Seychelles, Africa

October is one of the best times to visit the Seychelles as the sea is calmer and there is less algae.
They are an archipelago of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean. However, a distinction is generally made between the Inner Islands, which comprise 42 granitic islands located within a radius of 56 km from Mahé, and the Outer Islands, which are more scattered and of coral origin. Here there are numerous beaches, lush vegetation, coral reefs, nature reserves and rare animals, such as the Aldabra giant tortoise.
Among the most beautiful beaches are Anse Georgette (Praslin), Anse Source d'Argent (La Digue) and St. Josè Bay (Curieuse Island).
At the end of October, the hugely important Kreol Festival is held, for a week full of colours, sounds and flavours.

11 - Dubai, United Arab Emirates

For those who crave summer temperatures in October and don't want to fly too many hours from Italy, Dubai is an excellent autumn destination for those who want to relax by the sea, go shopping and tour the surrounding area.
The days are clear, the rains very rare, the sea warm and the period is also optimal for desert safaris with dinner, sandboarding and camel rides.

12 - Las Vegas, USA

If you find yourself in the United States in autumn, don't miss a weekend in Las Vegas, a perfect destination at this time of year because the climate is dry and not too torrid.
